November 1 -- Best Books, Seminars, and Other Sources of Information

One of the most valuable things about a club like the GDTPUG is that the members share their finds and treasures with one another. The bookstore is filled with hundreds of books all purporting to be *the* one you should own, and you suspect that they can't *all* be right. Not only that, but there are also many seminars, classes, and web sites also clamoring for your time and money. At tonight's meeting members will describe their personal favorite sources of information, and why they like them.

The meeting will be informal with people giving reports and fielding questions.

If you are willing to volunteer a report, please prepare a short description of a book, tutorial, or web site that you found especially useful for learning how to do your job better. Please indicate the type of material covered, and why you found this source especially useful.

Take a look at Resources to see what some of the member's favorites are.

Remember, the meetings are free and open to the public. Please bring a friend.

Please send email to gdtpug@troutcom.com with suggestions for topics you are interested in seeing covered. Or even better, volunteer to give a presentation!

The Goleta DeskTop Publishing Users Group is a SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Santa Barbara PC Users Group. We are not platform specific: some members have PCs, some have Macs, some have both. Linux and other systems are sprinkled in as well for good measure. We focus on the issues of publishing in all forms, be it on paper, web, CD-ROM, or some other medium.
