The Goleta DeskTop Publishing Users Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7pm Goleta Public Library, 500 N. Fairview, Goleta, CA.

- The desktop publishing (DTP) special interest group (SIG)
of the Santa Barbara PC Users Group. This SIG is devoted to
sharing information and techniques to improve the quality and
productiveness of PC publishing in all media (dead trees, web,
CD-ROM, and so on).
- Monthly meetings which are free and open to the
public.
All are welcome to come to the meetings to share and learn.
Meeting topics include
- Scanning pictures (choosing resolution, applying color correction,
image manipulation, etc.)
- Optical character recognition (OCR)
- Mini-tutorials using popular page layout, word processing, and
presentation programs
- Creating presentations (PowerPoint, etc)
- Creating printed and electronic documents (Adobe Acrobat, web pages, etc)
- Add-ins, Plug-ins and similar extensions to popular programs
- Fonts, clip-art, borders, and other publishing accoutrements
